DTF Logo Placement Guide

Full Front T-Shirt Placement
This is the most common placement for heat transfers. The design is centered on the chest, following the “two-fingers” rule—about 1 inch below the collar.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult: 8″ to 12″ wide
  • Youth: 6″ to 9.5″ wide

Center-Chest T-Shirt Placement
Ideal for half-height logos or designs, centered in the upper chest area. Ensure proper placement to avoid positioning in the breast or stomach area, especially for women. Adjust based on shirt size and style.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult: 5″ to 12″ wide
  • Youth: 4″ to 9.5″ wide
  • Infant: 2″ to 6″ wide

Left/Right Chest Heat Transfer Placement (Polo Shirt)
Typically, logos are placed on the left chest, leaving space on the right for a name patch or additional text. Align the logo vertically using the collar’s inside edge, ensuring it doesn’t extend below the bottom of the placket.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult: 3.25″ to 5″ wide
  • Youth: Same
  • Infant: Not applicable

Left/Right Chest Heat Transfer Placement (T-Shirt)
Similar to polo placement, but without a placket. Ensure the logo isn’t too far left (to avoid the armpit) or too low (to avoid the breast area). Adjust for scoop necks as needed.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult: 3.25″ to 5″ wide
  • Youth: Same
  • Infant: Not applicable

Left/Right Chest Heat Transfer Placement (Youth Polo Shirt)
Careful placement is required for youth polos to avoid the logo falling into the armpit area. Align with the collar, and don’t hesitate to place the logo close to the placket.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult: 3.25″ to 5″ wide
  • Youth: Same
  • Infant: Not applicable

Left/Right Thigh Placement (Shorts or Pants)
Align tall logos vertically and wide logos horizontally. For shorts, center the design above the cuff. This placement works well for pant sides too.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult (Tall designs): 1″ to 3″ wide by 8″ to 10″ tall
  • Adult (Wide designs): 2″ to 5″ wide
  • Youth (Tall designs): 0.75″ to 2″ wide by 8″ to 10″ tall
  • Youth (Wide designs): 2″ to 5″ wide
  • Infant: Not applicable

Left/Right Front Arm Placement (Long Sleeves)
Discuss placement with the customer to ensure their preferences. Align designs perpendicular to the sleeve, typically consisting of text or a logo/mascot combination.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult: 1″ to 3″ wide by 6″ to 8″ tall
  • Youth: 0.75″ to 2″ wide by 6″ to 8″ tall
  • Infant: Not applicable

Left/Right Side Arm Placement (Short Sleeves)
Flatten the sleeve and center the design, aligning wide designs horizontally with the cuff.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult: 1″ to 3″ wide by 2″ to 4″ tall
  • Youth: 1″ to 3″ wide by 2″ to 4″ tall
  • Infant: 1.5″ by 1.5″ max

Center Chest on Hoodie (With or Without Pockets)
Place the design like a t-shirt, but allow more room at the top. For non-zip hoodies, position the design 3 to 3.5 inches below the neckline.

Suggested Sizes:

  • Adult: 8″ to 12″ wide
  • Youth: 6″ to 9.5″ wide
